Livestock
The wholesale beef trade has had an odd 2 ½ days. Separate from that most near term fundamental factors remain supportive. The main question is pricing is on the feeder side. If/when the border is opened how much of recent gains will be removed? Cattle on Feed is on Friday afternoon.
Wheat
The wholesale beef trade has had an odd week with wild gyrations. The current ending week trade though is only -0.12. Separate from that most near term fundamental factors remain supportive. The main question is pricing is on the feeder side. If/when the border is opened how much of recent gains will be removed? Cattle on Feed came in on the expectation.
Soybean
With the first spending bill discussed Tuesday/Wednesday being pushed aside, and chances for a threat to the biodiesel tax credit now off the table, futures continue to recover. There are just a few cents left to recover losses since Monday's 986 close on the March. Other big picture bear arguments are still on the table though (US trade policy/no US crush offset/Brazilian real/SA weather/palm oil pricing). This market will remain at some type of discount to economic value until we know more about changes to trade policy late next month. The bull argument is not that things are suddenly bullish, it is that perhaps bears just went too far too fast.
