Wheat export sales posted a good 532,885 tonnes in sales for last week's activity. The trade estimate was 350,000 - 650,000. There was one 120,000 tonne overnight sale that applied to this week.
USDA’s 825 million bushel new crop export goal, for the year that started June 1, is -2% from the five year average sale. Year to date sales are +2% vs. the average. To meet USDA's goal remaining sales can run -15% vs. the average through next May. This week was positive at +49%. We are now seeing signs of not just moderate stability in sales, but a light return to positive numbers. We expect this to moderately improve into winter/early spring.
