Livestock weights lightly trimmed in the latest week.

The weekly Actual Slaughter report detailed meat production statistics for the second week of September.

Dressed steer weights rose +3 lbs. from the prior week to now 948. Dressed heifers were unchanged from the prior week's 852. Compared with last year steer weights rose +4 to now +30 lbs. Stable heifer weights, at a seasonal time of increases, let to a year over year decline. Weights fell -11 lbs. from +31 to now +20 vs. last year.

Cattle weights were +3.2% year/year in the prior week. Due to the heifer weight change they lightly slipped to +3.0%..

Dressed barrow/gilt weights were unchanged from the prior week, 210 lbs. Compared with last year they lightly slipped from +4 lbs. to now +3.

Hog weights slipped from +1.9% from one year ago to +1.4%..
