Allendale, Inc. Releases Cattle on Feed Estimates

MCHENRY, IL. (January 16, 2025) – The following are our estimates for the coming Cattle on Feed report.

December placements are expected +0.8% from prior year at 1.712 million head. This is the second smallest December inflow in nine years. December placements determine a part of July – October fed cattle supply.

Allendale anticipates a Marketing total in December -1.1% from last year at 1.743 million. There was a positive calendar adjustment this month.

Total Cattle on Feed as of January 1 is estimated at 11.891 million, -0.3% from last year.
