Cattle weights hold at high levels.

Weekly Actual Slaughter this morning detailed meat production statistics for the third week of April.

Dressed steers in this week were -3 lbs. from the prior week, 919. Dressed heifers were +1 lb. in the latest week, now 852. Compared with last year, as we should be falling seasonally, steers fell from +28 lbs. to now +27. Heifers rose from +26 lbs. to now +27.

Cattle weights are steady with the prior week at +3.1% year over year.

Dressed barrow/gilt weights slippeed -1 lb. in the latest week to now 213. Compared with last year though, as last year stayed the same, they fell from -1 to now -2.
